§ 104. Sir G. de Freitasasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what has been done by Her Majesty's Government to help developing countries by encouraging generalised preferences as proposed by the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. NobleThe Trade and Development Board of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development approved last month the preferential arrangements worked out by the developed countries in accordance with the recommendation of the Second Conference in 1968. We propose to grant duty-free entry to most industrial goods from developing countries; details have been placed in the Library. I hope to introduce the necessary legislation next year.
