asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will now make a grant for the second stage of the Cams Alders recreational facilities at Fareham.

My right hon. Friend has no powers to provide such grants. The timing of capital expenditure for the second stage of this scheme will now fall to be considered locally under the new arrangements set out in the Department of the Environment Circular 2/70.
