HC Deb 30 November 1970 vol 807 cc260-1W
85. Mr. Raison

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if, in view of the increasing volume of complaints about aircraft noise in the Chesham District, he will carry out a full inquiry into its causes, and, in particular, in to the extent to which unauthorised low flying is taking place in that area.

Mr. Noble

Discussions have already been held between officials of the Department and representatives of Chesham U.D.C. on this matter. We are prepared to look into this further on receipt of additional information. We have no evidence of any unauthorised low flying.

87. Mr. Grylls

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, in view of concern over excessive aircraft noise in the Bagshot area, whether he will undertake a review of the Dunsfold and Woodley aircraft routes.

Mr. Noble

The experimental transfer of air traffic from the Fairoaks/Dunsfold route to the Woodley/Midhurst route came into operation in May this year and there have been consequential changes, upwards and downwards, in the effect of aircraft noise in different areas. I can confirm that it is intended to review the operational and amenity effects of the transfer.
