HC Deb 27 November 1970 vol 807 cc241-2W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what steps he is taking to provide adequate employment opportunities to replace those lost by the General Electric Company/Associated Electrical Industries decision to close its transformer factory at Wythenshawe, Manchester; and if he will make a statement.

Sir J. Eden

Applications for industrial development certificates for the Wythenshawe area will be considered on their merits in the light of all available information, including the prospective loss of employment opportunities at the G.E.C. factory.
