HC Deb 27 November 1970 vol 807 cc245-6W
Mr. Harold Walker

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he is taking in order to conserve visual amenity, to ensure that the proposed Coalite plant at Rossington is adequately screened by trees.

Mr. Graham Page

The permission for the Coalite plant requires trees and shrubs to be planted within 12 months from the date when the development starts. The local planning authority has imposed screening conditions on the per- mission for the stocking ground and is considering making tree preservation orders to safeguard some of the existing trees.
