§ Mr. Graham PageOur intention is to increase in the Northern Region and other development areas the attractions for residence, employment and investment. We are making a start by providing for the wider use of existing powers under the Local Employment Acts to help provide basic infrastructure services and to clear derelict land. Generally the help will be more closely related than in the past to the provision of employment and to the encouragement of vigorous and prosperous enterprises.
