§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in his forthcoming Budget, he will propose that all taxpayers should have their taxes reduced by the same amounts or percentages, with a preferential adjustment to the lower taxpayer where this cannot be properly arranged, in view of the disparity between the percentage reliefs offered to a couple earning £600 per annum and a person earning £100,000 per annum in his latest proposals.
