Q9. Mr. Douglas

asked the Prime Minister what is the rôle of the multidisciplinary central policy review staff in the Cabinet Office in relation to the public expenditure surveys.

many Ministers have used the Board of Trade aeroplane in the last five months; on which journeys was the aeroplane used; and what was the total cost to public funds.

The Civil Aviation Flying Unit comprises 13 aircraft primarily for operational safety purposes. In the five months up to 20th November, 21 Ministers have made use of these aircraft on 45 occasions at a total extra cost of £9,686.

As in any other policy area, to improve the analysis available to the collective body of the Cabinet.
