HC Deb 23 November 1970 vol 807 cc47-8W
Mr. Wilkinson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what proportion of the female working population of Bradford is in full-time and part-time employment, respectively; and how this figure compares both with that of a year ago in Bradford and with the current national figure.

Mr. Dudley Smith

I regret that the information is not available.

Mr. Wilkinson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what proportion of the male working population of the City of Bradford is currently unemployed; and how this compares with the figure for mid-November, 1969, in Bradford and with the current national figure.

Mr. Dudley Smith

The percentage rates of unemployment for males in the area covered by the Bradford and Shipley Employment Exchanges at 9th November, 1970, and 10th November, 1969, were 4.7 and 3.1, respectively. At November, 1970, the rate for Great Britain was 3.5. Figures for November, 1970, are provisional.
