§ Mr. McNamaraasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science upon what nutritional and other evidence she decided to increase the cost of school meals.
§ Mrs. ThatcherThe question of such evidence does not arise, since there is to be no change in the nutritional value of the school meal. The increased charges are designed to transfer more of the cost of the service to users who can afford it. The position of parents with modest incomes will be protected by the extended entitlement to free meals.
