HC Deb 23 November 1970 vol 807 cc50-1W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware of the practice of business firms engaging in fund-raising activities for registered charities and then charging fees for their services thereby reducing the amounts of charitable grants made; and whether he will introduce legislation to amend the Registered Charities Act to prevent such organisations from paying more than one per cent. of the funds raised to these private money-making organisations.

Mr. Carlisle

The answer to the first part of the Question is "Yes"; and to the second "No".
