HC Deb 23 November 1970 vol 807 c28W
Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will, in conjunction with the Secretary of State for Wales, initiate a survey of public transport in Wales; and if he will give an undertaking that no railway closure in Wales shall be approved until such survey is completed.

Mr. Peyton

In the studies I am making of public transport I shall not overlook the problems of Wales. I am in touch with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales. But I regret I cannot give the undertaking the hon. Member seeks.
