HC Deb 23 November 1970 vol 807 c27W
Mr. Urwin

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what advice he has received on the long-term distribution of population; what studies he has initiated; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Graham Page

The study of long-term population distribution trends and their implications, on which my right hon. Friend has received a report by a group of officials, is a continuing feature of the work of Government Departments. The results are taken into account in the framing of Departmental policies and they are especially relevant in the preparation of regional strategies.
