HC Deb 20 November 1970 vol 806 c504W
Mr. Bradley

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what estimate he has made of the effect of the forthcoming trade legislation in the United States of America on low-cost imports of hosiery and knitwear goods into this country.

Mr. Anthony Grant

It is not possible to estimate the effect upon our imports of new restrictions which the U.S.A. may place on imports of textile products. I am, however, aware that any new import restrictions in the U.S.A. may result in additional supplies being offered to the British market.
