HC Deb 20 November 1970 vol 806 cc509-10W
Mr. Loveridge

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will have a survey made of the proposed development of areas alongside the River Thames and in particular on the Rainham Marshes which form part of the Hornchurch constituency.

Mr. Graham Page

As a result of the Thames-side (Tower to Tilbury) Conference, on which the Greater London Council, the London Boroughs concerned, the County Councils of Essex and Kent, the Port of London Authority, the Confederation of British Industries and the London Trades Council were represented a survey of the development potential of Thames-side areas from Tower Bridge downstream to Tilbury and including Rainham Marshes is currently being undertaken as a joint study by the appropriate local planning authorities.
