Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for Social Service whether he will state the membership of the Attendance Allowance Board set up under the National Insurance (Old persons' and widows' pensions and attendance allowance) Act, 1970.

The membership of the Board, which has now started work, is as follows:

  • Lord Amulree, President of the British Geriatric Society (Chairman);
  • Dr. F. Cooksey, C.B.E., Specialist in Physical Medicine;
  • Dr. D. L. Davies, Psychiatrist;
  • Dr. A. W. Franklin, Paediatrician;
  • Miss Mary Greaves, M.B.E., Director of the Disablement Income Group;
  • Dr. P. M. Higgins, General Practitioner;
  • Dr. N. L. Rusby, Chest Physician;
  • Dr. C. M. S. Saunders, O.B.E., Physician in charge of St. Christopher's Hospice.
