HC Deb 20 November 1970 vol 806 c488W
Mr. Concannon

asked the Minister of State for Defence how many courts-martial have taken place over the last two years due to actions in or about Northern Ireland; and how many Service men have been dismissed the service with or without disgrace as a consequence.

Mr. Lambton

Royal Navy—none; Army—77; Royal Air Force—one.

It would require protracted research to ascertain the number of men sentenced to be dismissed. About 60 per cent. of the trials were, however, for absence without leave.
