§ Mr. Tom Boardmanasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science when effect is to be given to the recommendation of the Royal Commission on Medical Education that a medical school should be established at Leicester.
§ Mrs. ThatcherOn the advice of the University Grants Committee, and in consultation with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services, I have agreed that a medical school should be established at Leicester. This will enable the school to contribute, as recommended by the Royal Commission on Medical Education, to the target of 3,700 pre-clinical entry places by 1975 as well as providing additional places after 1975.
