Mrs. Sally Oppenheim

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will provide finance to enable the Construction Industry Training Board to repay its outstanding commitments immediately.

Mr. Bryan

The board is considering other steps to overcome its present financial difficulties.

Mr. Robert Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Employment on what date he anticipates publishing the report and accounts of the Construction Industry Training Board for the year ended 30th March, 1970.

It is expected that the report and accounts will be published on 17th December, 1970.

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether those firms which are owed grants by the Construction Industry Training Board, and which are now faced with further levy demands, may offset the former against the latter.

I understand that the Construction Industry Training Board has already announced that it is considering the possibility of an offsetting arrangement on the lines suggested by the hon. Member, coupled with the payment of grant by instalments.
