HC Deb 17 November 1970 vol 806 c381W
Mr. Golding

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will take steps to restock rivers with fish.

Mr. Graham Page

In general, restocking is a matter for the river authorities or the owners of the fishing rights; and I see no need for special action on my part to secure the restocking of the fairly short stretches of the three or four rivers where there were substantial fish kills as a result of the measures taken during the course of the recent strike of local authority manual workers.
