Mr. Onslowasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects to be in a position to issue further guidance to the South-West Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board concerning the appointment of a fire safety officer by the North-West Surrey Hospital Management Committee; and when the request for such guidance first reached his Department.
§ Mr. AlisonThe South-West Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board consulted my Department in July and were told that additional guidance on fire precautions, including advice about the appointment of specialist officers, was being prepared. This guidance will be issued shortly, but meantime the Board will be given the advice they await.
