HC Deb 17 November 1970 vol 806 cc371-2W
Mr. Dormand

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his estimate of the number of families in the Easington constituency who will receive payments under the Family Income Supplements Bill.

Mr. Dean

I regret that the information is not available for the reason I gave the House yesterday.—[Vol. 806, c.348.]

Mr. Murray

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he proposes a review of the prescribed sum for family income supplement on a two-yearly basis as he has promised for retirement pensions.

Sir K. Joseph

It is certainly my intention to keep the prescribed sums under review, but at this stage in the development of an entirely new benefit I do not think that it would be right to specify the frequency of review.

Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many families in Wales and Cardiganshire, respectively, have a total income which is below supplementary benefits level.

Mr. Dean

I regret the information is not available.
