80. Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he proposes to amend the nuclear power station programme; and if he will make a statement on his current total estimate of costs of continuing the present programme.

Sir J. Eden

The nuclear power station programme is kept under review. The Generating Boards estimate that from 31st March, 1970, further expenditure on A.G.R. capacity at present under construction will be about £250 million.

81. Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will now make a statement on his Department's policy relating to the Select Committee of Science and Technology's Report on Nuclear Power Stations.

Sir J. Eden

The conclusions of the report are for the generating boards and the plant industry, which have the direct responsibility in these matters, to consider.
