HC Deb 16 November 1970 vol 806 c322W
98. Sir G. Nabarro

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, having regard to further decline in output in the motor-car industry, notably in Midlands factories during the first eight months of 1970, what steps he now proposes to take to restore full production.

Mr. Ridley

The decline in output is due to problems that are the responsibility of both sides of industry. The Government's measures providing a legal framework for industrial relations should, in the longer term, help to reduce dislocation of production in all industries.
