HC Deb 16 November 1970 vol 806 c337W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why he will not introduce legislation to amend the Income and Corporation Taxes Act 1970 so that the general rule that employees required to live in specified accommodation for the proper performance of their duties are not taxed on its value is comprehensively rescinded.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

I do not think that the suggested change in the law would be justified.
