asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many applications by men over 87 years of age and women over 82 years of age under Section 1 of the National Insurance (Old Persons) Act, 1970, have been approved by the Pontefract and Castleford offices, respectively.

Up to and including 5th November, 1970, the following awards under section 1 of the Act had been made: Pontefract—44; Castleford—34.
