HC Deb 12 November 1970 vol 806 c246W
Mr. Laurance Reed

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many British ships have struck mines in the North Sea since the war; and how many people have been killed.

Mr. Anthony Grant

The Annual Returns of Shipping Casualties and Deaths list a number of casualties to British merchant and fishing vessels caused by mines from 1946 to 1952 but not beyond. They do not, however, distinguish in each of those years which took place in the North Sea.
