HC Deb 12 November 1970 vol 806 cc227-8W
58. Mr. Kinnock

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on the difficulties encountered by scientific and technical officer grade employees of the Medical Research Council in securing the recognition of an appropriate trade union to represent their grievances and claims.

Mr. Bryan

The Commission on Industrial Relations has been examining the functioning and development of institutions and procedures for the conduct of industrial relations between the Medical Research Council and its employees in non-clinical scientific, technical officer and technician grades, with particular reference to the council's policy as respects trade union recognition, and is expected to publish its report very shortly.
