HC Deb 10 November 1970 vol 806 c89W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what items of personal property are normally treated as of an essential nature qualifying for assistance with hire-purchase payments to families of persons engaged in industrial disputes from the Supplementary Benefits Commission.

Mr. Dean

So far as is known no supplementary benefit payments to meet the hire-purchase commitments of families where the breadwinner is engaged in a trade dispute have been made.
