HC Deb 10 November 1970 vol 806 c106W
Mr. Ron Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much money by way of grants is spent, respectively, by the Government and the Carlisle City Council in the preservation of historic buildings in the city of Carlisle.

Mr. Graham Page

One grant of £4,000 has been made on the advice of the Historic Buildings Council under the Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments Act, 1953. I understand that the Carlisle City Council have also made use of their powers under the Local Authorities (Historic Buildings) Act, 1962. They will no doubt provide information about it if asked by the hon. Member.
