§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that school caretakers, resident porters and caretakers of both public and private buildings who have to live on the premises and are allocated flats, etc., are assessed on the worth of these premises as an emolument liable for tax; and why a similar procedure is not adopted for Ministers of the Crown and other persons connected with Parliament who enjoy these tax-free benefits.
