§ Mr. John Fraserasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many days have been lost in strikes over inter-union 58W disputes since 18th June, 1970; which were the strikes in question; and how many workers not involved in the disputes were laid off as a result in each case.
§ Mr. BryanThe number of working days lost in eight stoppages of work arising from inter-union disputes between 18th June, 1970 and 30th September, 1970 is provisionally estimated at 6,800. It is not my Department's practice to publish figures naming individual establishments. At the establishments concerned the number of workers laid off as a result, although not themselves parties to the disputes, was 1,300.
