§ Mr. Peter ThomasOn 1st July, 1970, the number of non-industrial staff employed in the Welsh Office was 775 and on 1st November, 1970, it was 799.
There will inevitably be some immediate increase in Welsh Office numbers in order to cope with the added functions announced in the recent White Paper Cmnd. 4506, but I am in process of reviewing overall figures in relation to the work which has to be done.
