HC Deb 09 November 1970 vol 806 cc49-50W
Mr. James Hamilton

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will now implement the Bramwell Committee Report; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

The Committee's major recommendations relating to new welfare legislation, the creation of a standing welfare advisory body, and welfare inspections by the State Veterinary Service have already been implemented. Its other recommendations, including those dealing with detailed standards of housing and other environmental factors, have been taken fully into account in the extensive arrangements which now exist to safeguard the welfare of livestock.
