Mr. James Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will now institute immediate negotiations for reciprocity with the United States of America for National Insurance benefits.

Mr. Dean

There is no scope for a comprehensive agreement, but in September, 1969, there was an Exchange of Letters with the United States about the payment of British retirement pensions and widows benefit in that country and the payment of United States pensions to citizens of this country who are living outside the United States.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services with what countries there are reciprocal arrangements for National Insurance benefits.

Mr. Dean

The countries are:

Northern Ireland, The Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus, Malta, Bermuda, The Irish Republic, Belgium Denmark.

Finland, France, The Federal Republic of Germany, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, The United States of America, Yugoslavia.
