§ Mr. Laurance Reedasked the Minister of State for Defence what steps he has taken to ensure that knowledge gained by his Department in the field of marine 462W science and technology is made available to civil operators.
§ Mr. KirkThe Ministry of Defence make this information available in two ways. First, through the Committee on Marine Technology which is sponsored by the Department of Trade and Industry with representation from the Natural Environment Research Council, the Ministry of Defence and the National Research Development Corporation, and has close contacts with industry. Secondly, through the Techlink scheme, under which the Department of Trade and Industry distributes information about technical ideas and discoveries in this and other fields.
