HC Deb 06 November 1970 vol 805 c459W
Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is his estimate of the total amount of saving to the Treasury on cereals deficiency payments in 1970–71 on the basis that the present high price level of cereals is maintained.

Mr. Anthony Stodart

The forecast out-turn of Government expenditure on cereal guarantee payments in the United Kingdom for 1970 is now expected to be between £45 million and £50 million less than that set out in the published estimates.
