§ Mr. van StraubenzeeMy best estimate is that parents of United Kingdom based students at undergraduate level at British 421W universities contributed about £3 million in 1969–70 towards the cost of fees. This was 16 or 17 per cent. of the total. The remainder was mainly paid by local authorities.
