HC Deb 05 November 1970 vol 805 c436W
Mr. Meacher

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether the Government will now formally commit themselves to the Pearson objective that of total overseas aid annually provided by Great Britain seven-tenths should come from official sources.

Mr. Wood

No. The Government have decided that official flows of development assistance should form a substantial part of total flows, but they do not accept a separate target for such flows.
