Mr. van StaubenzeeMy noble Friend the Paymaster-General will consider the arrangements for admission charges, including the cost of collection, in consultation with the trustees of each gallery and museum. Until the details are worked are worked out it would not be practicable to estimate the cost of collection.
§ Miss Lestorasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) what financial arrangements will be made for school parties visiting museums and art galleries when the admission charge is introduced;
(2) if she proposes to exclude retirement pensioners from the forthcoming entrance charges to museums and art galleries.
§ Mr. van StraubenzeeThe detailed arrangements for admission charges and exemptions from them will be the subject of consultation with the national museums and galleries. The needs and circumstances of school parties and retirement pensioners will be carefully considered when arrangements are being worked out.
