§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received from Ayr County Council about its proposals to establish Higher National Certificate courses in mining within Ayr Technical College; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellA number of representations have been received from Ayrshire Education Authority over the last two years, because my predecessor refused to approve this course at Ayr 377W Technical College. The reasons for the decision are fully set out in the reply which my hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Health and Education sent on 24th July to the hon. Member's letter of 4th July.
