§ Mr. Chichester-Clarkasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) how many places have been available at agricultural colleges in England, Scotland and Wales, respectively, and the number of them which have been filled in each of the last five academic years;
(2) how many students have been engaged in full-time courses in agricultural colleges in England, Scotland and Wales during the last five academic years; and what proportion those undergoing this training form of the total number employed in agriculture in June of the relevant year in each of these four areas.
§ Mr. van StraubenzeeThere are no fixed total figures of student places at agricultural colleges in England, Wales and Scotland, since capacities are flexible. The total numbers of students attending full-time courses of further education in agriculture at colleges in England, Wales and Scotland for the past five academic years, and the relationship of these to the total numbers employed in agriculture in the preceding June, are shown in the following table:
