§ Mr. William Rodgersasked the Lord President of the Council whether he is aware that the White Paper on The Re-organisation of Central Government was not available to Members at the House at 4 p.m. on the day of publication although fully reported in the Press; and if he will ensure that in future White Papers published during the Recess are readily available to Members at the House at all reasonable times.
§ Mr. WhitelawThe White Paper was published at 3 p.m. on Thursday, 15th October and copies were available at that hour. During the Parliamentary Recess the Vote Office is normally open from 7.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. On that day, however, it remained open an extra hour because of the publication of the White Paper. A copy was also available in the Library of the House which was open until 5 p.m.
