§ Mr. David Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he will lay the draft Section 7 and Section 9 Orders in respect of the Whitchurch bypass, which were due to be laid in October this year; and if he will give an assurance that the delay in publishing these Orders will not cause a delay in completion of the by-pass which is urgently needed for the safety of both people and houses in the village.
§ Mr. Michael HeseltineI hope to advertise the draft Orders before the end of the year. This scheme has now been transferred from the Trunk Road Preparation Pool into the firm Roads Programme. Subject to funds being available and to the satisfactory completion of the statutory procedures, work is planned to start towards the end of 1972.
