HC Deb 03 November 1970 vol 805 c339W
Mr. Denzil Davies

asked the Minister of State for Defence whether the inquiry which his Department is now conducting into the land requirements of the forces, particularly in national parks and on the coast, will include an investigation of the proposal to locate a gunnery range along the coast of Pembrey, Carmarthenshire.

Mr. Ian Gilmour

I have nothing to add to the answer given to the hon. Gentleman in the OFFICIAL REPORT of 16th July.—[Vol. 803, c.258.]

Mr. Denzil Davies

asked the Minister of State for Defence what percentage area of the coastline of Carmarthenshire is at present under the control of his Department; and what is his estimate of the percentage which would be occupied by the Shoeburyness Gunnery Range if it is transferred to Pembrey.

Mr. Ian Gilmour

21.5 per cent. and 10.6 per cent. respectively.
