Member has country parks and picnic sites in mind, 17 country parks, 23 picnic sites and three analogous projects by private bodies have been approved for grant in England and Wales under the Countryside Act, 1968. 247 such projects are currently under consideration; of these 71 have been approved in principle by the Countryside Commission and 162 await further information from the local authority concerned.
