HC Deb 03 November 1970 vol 805 c342W
Mr. Brewis

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware of the large increase in the numbers of collared doves in recent years; and whether he will limit the protection granted under the Protection of Birds Acts 1954–67 in view of the potential damage to agricultural crops.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

These considerations were taken into account in 1967, when the collared dove in Scotland was transferred to the Second Schedule of the Protection of Birds Act 1954, the category giving the minimum degree of protection.
