Mr. Bishop

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what are his road proposals for the County of Nottingham, including the A46; and whether any variation is proposed for economic reasons.

Trunk road schemes costing more than £¼ million in preparation for Nottinghamshire are:

  • A46 Improvement Widmerpool to East Stoke £2.9 million.
  • A46 Dualling from Saxondale Crossroads to Gunthorpe Turn £0.800 million.
  • A46 Improvement at East Stoke £0.471 million.
  • A614 Arnold By-pass £2.3 million.
  • A614 Nottingham Ring Road A609 Junction Improvement £1.35 million.
  • A52 Improvement Wollaton Vale to Nottingham Ring Road £1.7 million.
As the Chancellor of the Exchequer said in the House on 27th October, there will be no change in the trunk road programme.
