HC Deb 02 November 1970 vol 805 c256W
Mr. Goronwy Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry to what extent the proposed net decrease of £87 million in capital expenditure by nationalised industries in 1971–72 will affect the development of such industries in Wales, and particularly the proposal of the Central Electricity Generating Board to build another nuclear generating station in North Wales.

Mr. Noble

The cuts apply to the overall capital expenditure of the industries concerned. As regards the second part of the Question, it is for the Central Electricity Generating Board to decide how its cut should be allocated.
