asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what action he proposes to take to lessen the incidence of lung cancer.

Mr. Alison

The incidence of lung cancer would be greatly reduced if people stopped smoking cigarettes, and we are currently considering what further measures are required to bring home to people more effectively the risks they run in adopting or continuing with this dangerous habit.
